ADME Stamp was created to provide fellow stamp collectors, especially, the
young, just beginning collector a place to purchase a finer quality of stamp at
a reasonable price.
I have been collecting postage stamps since 1959 and I
fondly remember all the lawns I mowed, cars I washed, and other odd jobs to earn
50 cents or a dollar so I could go to Woolworth's 5 and dime to buy a new packet
of stamps, that I didn't have, and needed so I could finish a series, or fill a
page. Every cent I could earn went into my stamp collection.
It was like Christmas when my parents would get a letter from my grandmother, as
she started buying plate number blocks of four and sending them to me when she
would write to my parents. She would also save all the used stamps from letters
she received.
Stamp collecting I believe was a tremendous help to me in school. I credit my
stamp collecting for the decent grades I received in Geography, American and
World History, and probably Math, English, and just about every other
class I had, while going to school. Along with it being an enjoyable and relaxing
hobby, Stamp Collecting is a fabulous teacher.
As with everything in our world today, the price of collecting stamps has risen
with the times. In no time at all you can have a small fortune invested. I
believe that some of the large stamp companies, who sell stamps and supplies to
collectors, are taking advantage of the inexperienced and beginning collectors,
with the quality of stamps they are selling for the price they are asking. ADME
